Matthew Shaw

MattMatthew Shaw has been a lifetime resident in the Bayside area, undertook his secondary schooling at Mentone Boys Grammar, spent six years (including his Articles) with Collins Street firm Gilbert Field & Warne and, after several further years post admission practice in the Melbourne inner suburbs returned to Bayside to establish his own legal practice in 1984.

In the intervening 30+ years he has continued to build the practice by acquiring and merging the practices of Marc Preston & Associates, and later Ross Fletcher & Associates. Matthew has extensive experience in property law and conveyancing, specialist alpine conveyancing, subdivisions, commercial leasing and general commercial law relating to the establishment, operation and sale and purchase of businesses together with wills and estate administration, traffic, crime and general litigation.

His clients include individuals, local businesses and property developers from both within and outside the Bayside/South East suburbs who have been repeat clients over many years. Matthew’s experience in alpine property and conveyancing has developed from his love of skiing and eleven years as a member of the Board of Directors of the Australian Alpine Club (Dinner Plain) Co-Operative Ltd. His other great passion outside his legal practice is cycling.

Mark Cerne

MarkMark is a Solicitor (General Commercial Litigation) and Nationally Accredited Mediator (NMAS).

Mark has assisted with dispute resolution work in high-quality boutique law firms in Melbourne, while participating in work for organisations such as the VCAT, VEOHRC and the Arts Law Centre of Australia as a panel Mediator. He has also lectured groups here and abroad on resolving commercial disputes by mediation.

Mark has elected to work for highly skilled deal lawyers and dispute resolvers. He has converted disputes over property into property deals and transformed disputes between business partners into opportunities. His main focus in litigation and dispute resolution is employing resources where they will make a difference to securing results.

Marina Righetti

Conveyancing Clerk

Marina Righetti has worked as the principal Conveyancer with the practice since 2000 and is a highly knowledgeable and experienced member of staff whose care and conduct of conveyancing files, whether sales, purchases or subdivisions, is held in high regard by the firm and clients alike.

Marina’s conveyancing experience extends in excess of 20 years. She has great communication skills and understands that your property transaction involves one of the biggest decisions you will ever make. She will be with you through every step of the conveyancing process and will work diligently to achieve a stress free settlement with immediate recourse to Matthew’s guidance if any complex property issues arise in connection with your matter.

Valeria Zalogin

Accounts Executive and Office Manager.

Valeria Zalogin is the firm’s Office Manager and Accounts Executive. She looks after the day to day management of the office together with our trust account and general account bookkeeping and is the person to contact regarding any account matters or arrangements.

Kim Capuano

Secretary/Wills and Estate Clerk.

Kim Capuano, has been Secretary to Matthew Shaw since 2004 and also assists in the conduct of Probate and Estate Administration files and in the preparation of Wills and Powers of Attorney. She is the point of contact if you would like to set up a meeting with either Matthew or Roland in order to discuss or seek advice on your particular matter.
